CBSE does not prescribe specific textbooks for Nursery. Schools generally use a combination of commercially available books and their own worksheets and teaching materials. Common types of books used in Nursery classes include:

Alphabet Books: To introduce and practice writing capital and small letters.
Number Books: To introduce and practice writing numbers and basic counting.
Rhyme Books: With colorful illustrations of popular English and Hindi rhymes.
Picture Books: For storytelling and vocabulary development.
Coloring and Activity Books: To reinforce learning concepts through fun activities.
Drawing Books: To encourage creativity and develop fine motor skills.
General Awareness Books: Introducing basic concepts about the environment, family, and community.
Workbooks: For practicing pre-writing skills, letter and number recognition, and basic concepts.

Many schools create their own supplementary worksheets tailored to their specific teaching methodologies and the needs of their students. Some popular publishers for Nursery books in India include Target Publications, Goyal Brothers Prakashan, and local publishers. NCERT does not publish specific books for pre-schools.
